Nothing leaves the office without being checked by our engineers, all of whom are Registered Professional Engineers with the Board of Professional Engineers, Queensland.

We are listed on the Sunshine Coast Regional Council register as an approved provider for professional services. We also have a standing arrangement with DERM (QLD) for the provision of services including design, drafting, engineering, estimating, certification and surveying in Southern Queensland.

our past

The founding directors of Tod Consulting, Stefan and Phil, moved to the Sunshine Coast in the 1980s and managed the respective Noosa and Maroochydore offices of the Tod Group. The 1980s was a period of strong growth for the region, with many of today’s hi-rises and land developments in both Noosa and Maroochydore designed by the Tod Group.

In 2007, Chris Dowding joined the company after working as a Senior Engineer with Maunsell Australia. In 2008, Doug Reynolds joined the company, having previously served as Works Planning Engineer and then Manager - Works Operations for Noosa Shire Council for 9 years.
A new company was formed in 2008 to reflect changes in ownership. Chris and Doug joined Stefan and Phil as directors; and Tod Consulting was born.

our present

It’s an exciting time at Tod Consulting. Our business has grown to include project management of Local Government infrastructure; design & construction projects; bridges; and leisure structures.

We’ve introduced new ways to share knowledge and experience across our team, including via Todwiki (our electronic encyclopaedia).

We've also introduced sustainable practices to reduce consumption, material waste and our use of carbon-based energy.

our future

We will continue to provide sustainable solutions for community infrastructure in education, workplaces, apartments & homes, retail & industry, transport, sports and leisure. However, the methods we employ will evolve with advances in technology.

We anticipate that in time Tod Consulting will provide solutions as three-dimensional electronic models to be merged with the models of other professionals like Architects, Mechanical Engineers, Landscape Architects, Surveyors, Town Planners and Environmental Engineers. This will ultimately allow collaboration of ideas on a scale that is currently rare in the industry. The result will be a highly coordinated design that gives our clients infrastructure of superb quality.

We also believe that the same things which produce excellent results today will prevail tomorrow: good ideas, communication and collaboration, and the desire and drive to have each project succeed. We strive for successful projects and satisfied clients in our future, just as we have enjoyed in the past.
