Description:

One of the first projects for the reformed Noosa Shire Council was to replace the local 1980s era bus shelters with a unique, low maintenance, hard wearing structure that complements Noosa’s environment. The proposed shelter design was to comply with the new Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and was required to cost no more than an off-the-shelf product.

Tod Consulting were appointed as the structural design consultants working alongside Majstorovic Architecture utilising durable materials and creating a design that could easily be assembled with minimal disruption to local traffic during installation. The structure and connections were developed to conceal fixings and create clear lines where possible. Upon engaging Noosa Engineering and Crane Hire, the partnership worked together to enhance the design, further increasing the speed of installation.
